Performance Partners
Delivery of the highest quality and most reliable structural performance components on the market is our company mission, positioning REL to partner with both NASA and the U.S. Army Research Laboratory using Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) technology. We have applied this technology to manufacturer performance motorcycle brakes.
Our partners demand the highest standards of commitment, execution and delivery of proven performance solutions.
Both NASA and the U.S. Army Research Laboratory required advanced superior product solutions not available in the market. REL, Inc. engineering and manufacturing have developed and delivered the required solutions. This advanced technology applied to braking systems can be considered the “Future of Braking Technology” now available factory direct to bike owners, part suppliers, and manufacturers.
NASA Insulation Panels:

REL, Inc. is a leader in binder-less ceramic processing and has currently provided extreme temperature fiber insulation to NASA. REL partnered with NASA on the return to flight effort in order to keep the launch schedule for 2006 and 2007 on track. REL's (MMC) product technology is on the space station 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
U.S. Army Research Laboratory:

REL, Inc. is contributing technology for Warfighter Survivability applications working with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. The Soldiers of today and tomorrow depend on the Army's corporate laboratory to deliver the scientific discoveries, technological advances, and the analyses that provide warfighters with the capabilities with which to execute full-spectrum operations. The U.S. Army Research Laboratory's (ARL) is focused on maturing technologies for transition principally to the Research, Development, and Engineering Centers.
The current design for metal matrix composite protection by REL has integrated existing knowledge and skills into an effective ballistic protector.
Proprietary Advanced Technology
REL, Inc. develops structural metal matrix composite braking systems for a variety of vehicles and purposes. Using our protected MMC technology, we have designed special lightweight motorcycle brake rotors and systems which deliver performance and customization features Geared to Revolutionize the Motorcycle Braking Industry. Composite motorcycle brakes: Matrix Brakes have been perfected over the years through ongoing engineering research and development; we are experienced with the integration of MMCs in both conventional and custom brake systems.
Some existing technologies incorporated into our metal matrix composite brakes include:
- Ultra high temperature NASA material technology: Space vehicle applications
